Elwyn Vaughan MS
Member of the Senedd for Gwynedd Maldwyn
Elwyn Vaughan is a county councillor for the Glantwymyn on Powys County Council. He has been involved in several local campaigns and community issues across mid and north Wales. These include campaigning to retain the Wales Air Ambulance bases in Welshpool and Caernarfon, supporting efforts to secure the stroke unit at Bronglais Hospital, and opposing proposals for the Hafod landfill site near Johnstown and Rhuabon. He has also been involved in local opposition to proposals to extend or create a new National Park affecting communities including Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant and Llanarmon.
In the 2021 Senedd election, he stood as a candidate in Montgomeryshire and finished second behind the Conservatives.
In May 2026, Elwyn was elected one of four Plaid Cymru Senedd Members to represent the new constituency of Gwynedd Maldwyn.
